Import Mappings : Bimfire Support

Firstly define which data the stakeholders are allowed to import, which is controlled via Import mappings and can change between each delivery.

Add parameters to deliver to another stakeholder's Revit model.

All symbols that have been connected via Wall Requirement, Opening Requirement, or Family Connection can be sent to the linked model.

Revit 2020-2021

From Category, choose between Fire Alarm Device, Generic Model, or Space.

Categories sent from → to.

Fire Alarm device = Usually Doors, Windows, Panels, and other categories

Generic Models = Walls, Roofs, Ramps, and Floors

Space = Rooms

All parameters in the drop-down menu for Target Parameter, are all parameters from instances placed in the model.

Use the + or trashcan to add/remove parameter values to be sent to the architect.

Choose Door / Window if there are a FireReq_FireRatingDoor & FireReq_FireRatingWindow connected to one instance.

It is possible to remove parameters at any moment. The data will not be transferred after giving full control to the Engineer when to transfer data.

Revit 2022-

From Category, choose between Audio Visual Devices, Electrical Equipment, Fire Alarm Device, Fire Protection, Generic Model, Mechanical Equipment, Security Devices, Speciality Equipment, or Space.

Here is a list with a few pointers where the different requirements are in BFT templates.

Categories sent from → to.

Fire Protection = Used for Door, Window, and Wall fire rating requirements.

Security Devices = Usually door requirement, e.g. Door fitting, type of lock, door magnets, etc.

Fire Alarm Device = Used for emergency strategy, such as min clear width, door automation.

Space = Rooms

All parameters in the drop-down menu for Target Parameter, are all parameters from instances placed in the model.

Note: Before sending the model to the other stakeholders for import, try our QA workflow. This is part of the quality assurance workflow that should be in place for each project.
